Özet (EN)
In this study, a literature review has been made regarding the necessity of transitioning to the Zero Waste Management System as a waste management system in the world and in Turkey, regarding the system's processor, and the studies on this subject. It was evaluated that wastes should be collected separately at the source. For this purpose, separate collection amounts of total recyclable wastes and non-recyclable wastes were determined, taking into account the 12-month period. While 137.992 kg of waste was collected, 119.009 kg of these wastes were included in the urban waste collection system and sent to the integrated solid waste disposal facility, 21.983 kg of waste was delivered to licensed companies and entered the recycling process. Thus, the amount of waste going to the integrated solid waste disposal site has been reduced, and it has been determined that the total amount of recyclable waste has increased by %16. In addition, it was determined that the recyclable wastes and non-recyclable wastes in the 95% confidence interval showed a statistically significant difference according to the service units (p<0.05). It has been observed that the municipal staff started to apply this approach in their homes as well as in their working environments. As a result of the Zero Waste Management System applications, Adana Metropolitan Municipality has been awarded the "Zero Waste Certificate" given with the approval of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. It is thought that the economic, environmental and social impacts of the public / private institutions and organizations in our country will be seen in the short term by fulfilling their responsibilities in accordance with the Zero Waste Regulation, adopting technologies in accordance with the Zero Waste Management System by the municipalities that carry out the urban waste management system, and making this understanding a way of life.
