Abstract (EN)

Metal coating methods are applied to materials for both to provide improvement ofmechanical properties and to prevent material loss because of corrosion. Optimum ofnickel coating, zinc coating, tin coating, copper coating, noble metal coating and alloycoating like Ni-Co, Ni-W etc methods is selected according to properties expected fromcomponent and place of use.Because of electrochemical properties of zinc and economically zinc coatings are usedcommonly to protect steel from corrosion.İn recent years, to upgrade properties such wear resistance, high temperature resistanceand corrosion resistance of metals, composite coatings are applied. Electrodepositioncomposite coating which is one of composite coating methods is based on micron ornano sized particles added to a coating solution, this particles deposited in cathode withalloy or metal matrix.İn conducted electrodeposition composite coating studies since 2000s, it is concludedthat coatings made in added-nano particle nickel deposition baths increase corrosionresistance of material, addition of TiO2 and silica nano particle to zinc deposition bathsignificantly increase corrosion resistance of coating. İn conducted literature studies,there isn?t any study found that related to effect of addition of SiC nanoparticles in zinccoating baths which is commonly used in industry on corrosion resistance. In study, effect of addition of SiC nanoparticles in acidic zinc deposition bath oncorrosion resistance is investigated and in this context process of electrodeposition,steps of process, bath contents are explained and corrosion resistance of specimenswhich are coated in standard acidic zinc deposition bath with addition of SiCnanoparticles and effects of parameters such as current, time, temperature on corrosionresistance are examined. Also, change in corrosion resistance of specimens which arecoated with addition of different organics to acidic zinc deposition bath, is tried to bedetermined. Corrosion resistance of coatings are observed by salt spray test which iscommonly used for specification of corrosion resistance. Macrostructure pictures ofsurface structures of coated specimens before corrosion and after corrosion are taken,changes are tried to be explained.
