Sistem biyolojisi yaklaşımlarıyla kanserin tanısı, prognozu ve radyoterapiye yanıt için gen ekspresyon imzalarının tanımlanması

Cancer represents one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Despite the availability of anticancer therapeutic regimens, the incidence, prevalence, and mortality of cancer are increasing exponentially. The accurate diagnosis and prognosis of cancer, as well as assessment of patients' response to anticancer treatments, are of critical importance in clinical decision-making. Therefore, there is an emerging need for the identification of powerful molecular markers for the early detection and outcomes of cancer. Despite the exemplary efforts made to date, a comprehensive effort to determine potential diagnostic, prognostic, and radioresistance molecular signatures across human cancers is still lacking. The scope of our proposed studies was to identify diagnostic, prognostic, and radioresistance gene signatures for different types of human cancers, based on publicly available bibliographic and high-throughput data. To this end, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, gene expression profiling, and transcriptome-wide association analyses were performed in diverse cancers through integrative in silico approaches. The findings of those studies could be potentially taken into consideration in the clinical setting for the accurate and timely diagnosis of cancer, monitoring cancer patients, and the administration of appropriate antineoplastic therapy.
