Capacity building of civil society organizations and project assistance

The concepts of civil society and civil society organizations are among the popular concepts that are frequently used especially recently. Civil society means voluntary, self-creating, self-organizing, organized social life autonomous from the state and limited by a legal order or a set of common values. One of the most important actors that make up civil society is civil society organizations. Civil society organizations, on the one hand, alleviate the burden of the state by undertaking some of the services that principally performed by the state. On the other hand, with the introduction of the concept of governance in recent years, they have become more effective in the decisions taken by giving opinions to the administration on the issues relevant to their activities. Capacity building, on the other hand, emphasizes the existence of internal development processes and defines the activities carried out to support and facilitate the ongoing processes. Capacity building is mainly aimed at the development of inadequate functions and capabilities in the existing structure through internal dynamics and external support. Civil society organizations contribute to the development of their capacities in terms of financial resources, human resources and technical infrastructure by receiving support from various organizations in line with their projects and activities.
