The issue of basic human rights and freedoms in political party manifests

Political parties in Turkey give importance to their manifests (programs) for the most part. It is also impossible to see a political party in our country without such a manifest. However, when in power, or as an opposition party within the parliament, it is observed that the political parties do not adhere to their manifests or even act against it.On the issue of basic human rights and freedoms, It is seen that, the manifests of investigated political parties have a few general statements; followed by a mere listing of constitutional rights and freedoms. In some manifests, it is emphasized that the mentioned rights and freedoms are established only upon the official party ideology and values.In the first section of this work, the conceptual framework of human rights is drawn, and the general definitions of rights, freedoms and human rights are given.In the second section; The general outlook of the Turkish Public Administration is taken into consideration, where the organization of legislative-executive-judicial branches is explained on the basis of constitution and other laws.In the third section; the period before and after multi-party democracy in Turkey, as well as the maturing of political parties are investigated.In the fourth section; political party manifests and the issue of basic human rights and freedoms are taken into consideration. In this part of the work, major political parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), Republican People?s Party (CHP), Nationalist Action Party (MHP), and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP)); as well as the Felicity Party (SP) from outside the parliament are investigated.
