Relationship between functionalities of schizophrenia patients and care burden of caregivers, mental health levels, stress-coping styles: A structural equality modeling study

This study was designed as cross-sectional and relational descriptive research to determine the relationship between the functionalities of schizophrenia patients and the burden of care of those who care for schizophrenia patients mental health, stress-coping styles. 186 of the patients and care donors registered with 321 schizophrenia diagnoses in the Bartın State Hospital Community Mental Health Center (TRSM) made up the universe and sample of the research. The data of the study were collected using "personal data form", "functional recovery scale in schizophrenia patients (Chile)", "Zarit caregiver burden scale", "General Health Questionnaire (GSA 12)", "stress coping styles scale". The differences between the two independents were examined by independent sample T Test. Differences between more than two independent groups (for example, age groups) were looked at using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). If there is a difference as a result of one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), the Tukey multiple comparison test was used to determine which group the difference is caused by. Based on the comparison results, the structural synchronization model was decided. As a result of the statistical evaluation, there was a significant difference in schizophrenia patients when caregiver load was added on the way from functional recovery to general health (p>0.05). It was found that there was no significant difference when caregiver load was added on the way from functional recovery to coping with stress in patients with chiosphrenia. For this reason, an intermediary variable review could not be performed. According to the model results obtained as a result of this study, it is recommended to plan intervention studies that improve the stress-coping skills of caregivers and increase psychological well-being.
