Abstract (EN)

In this study, software application, which works without the internet and auxiliary application, has been developed for smartphones using Android OS in emergency situations. This application consists of two parts as geolocation and message support application. The objective of the study is to automatically forward the precise location (latitude and longitude) of the person calling 112, the phone battery level, IMEI number and the location link by short message to the emergency call center. Provided that Global Position System (GPS) on the user's phone is turned off, the app warns the user with vibration and on-screen warning. The positioning and message support app has been tested on various brands of phones and versions of the Android platform. These tests were carried out in two different situations: indoor and outdoor. As a result of the tests, indoor message transmission time is 23-86 seconds (about 13-30 meters error rate) and it is 14-33 seconds (about 9-17 meters error rate) outdoor. Message transmission times vary from region to region and mobile network density. The thesis study has been realized within the context of Android operating system architecture on smartphones and the satellite systems that are used very effectively for positioning nowadays.
