Abstract (EN)
This research aims to examine the attitudes of primary school teachers working in Amasya towards physical education and game lessons. The research was conducted based on the quantitative research approach. The sample of this research consists of 215 volunteer classroom teachers working in public primary schools in the center of Amasya in the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.As a data collection tool, the "Attitude Scale towards Physical Education and Play Lesson" consisting of 30 items in a five-point Likert type was used. In the study, the statistical evaluation of the data was first examined with the normality assumption Shapiro-Wilk test (P>0,05). The internal consistency of the answers given by the participants to the scale items is as follows; the course gains are at a high level, Personal Interest and Competence is at a medium level, Negative Opinions are at a Medium-Low Level, and Competencies for Conducting the Course are at a Medium-Low Level so, those all have been found to be reliable. While using inferential method in research findings; Pairwise comparisons such as gender, whether there is a gym in the schools where the teachers work, whether they have attended any in-service courses related to physical education and game lessons, and whether they are engaged in any sports branch, were determined by the Student t-test. Comparisons of three or more variables such as the age of the research group, seniority, the class they taught and the periods they were involved in sports were determined by one-way analysis of variance/Tukey multiple comparison test. As a result of the evaluation; There was no significant difference (P>0.05) between the total and sub-dimension total scores of the attitude scale towards physical education and game lessons according to the age variable of the classroom teachers, the variable of the classroom they teach and whether there is a gym in the school where they work. While a significant difference was found in favor of women between the gender variable of the classroom teachers and the total scores of the sub-dimensions of the physical education and game lessons (P<0.05), there was no significant difference (P>0.05) between the total score of the attitude scale and the total scores of the other sub-dimensions. In addition, a significant difference was found (P<0,05) between the total scores of the attitude scale towards physical education and game lesson and the total scores of the negative opinions sub-dimension according to the variable of years of service of the classroom teachers (P<0,01), while no significant difference was found between the total scores of the other sub-dimensions (P>0,05). In addition, there was a significant difference (P<0,01) between the variable of whether the classroom teachers attended any in-service course related to physical education and game lessons, and the total score of the attitude scale towards physical education and game lesson, personal interest and competence, and negative opinions sub-dimension scores (P<0,05). There was no significant difference (P>0.05) between the other sub-dimension total scores. In the study, a significant difference (P<0,01) was observed between the total scores of the attitude scale towards physical education and game lesson, personal interest and competence, and negative opinions sub-dimension scores according to the variable of whether the classroom teachers were involved in any sports branch, while there was no significant difference between the other sub-dimension total scores ( P>0.05) was not detected. A significant difference (P<0,01) was found between the total scores of the attitude scale towards physical education and game lesson, personal interest and competence in the conduct of the lesson, and the sub-dimension total scores of negative opinions, according to the variable in which period the classroom teachers were engaged in sports. No significant difference (P>0.05) was found between the other sub-dimension total scores. As a result: It was concluded that the attitudes of the classroom teachers in Amasya towards physical education and game lessons are significantly positive, and physical education and game activities should be used effectively since they contribute to the multi-faceted development of children in primary schools.
