Classroom teachers' views on values education (Isparta province example)

Education plays an important role in the development process of societies. Education is the most important tool used to convey social ideas to individuals at every stage of life. Educational institutions not only teach individuals about digital and social information, but also educate the cultural and fundamental values of society. Values education has an important role in the personality development of individuals. For this reason, a better social structure passes through an effective values education For an effective values education, the behaviors, views and educational status of our teachers, who play the most active role in providing values education in schools, are considered important. The purpose of this research; The aim of this course is to evaluate the opinions of classroom teachers about the values education practices in education by measuring with qualitative data In the study of values education; teachers' opinions about the implementation process, the activities done, the role of the family, moral development, mass media and the effects of the media, problems and solution suggestions were examined. In the first stage of the research, literature review was conducted on the subject. In order to obtain detailed data, the study group was determined according to certain criteria by using criterion sampling which is one of the purposive sampling methods. In the 2018-2019 academic year, the study group consisted of a total of 20 classroom teachers (11 male, 9 female) working in primary schools in Isparta. Interviews were conducted with the study group using open-ended questions through a semi-structured uluk Values Education Interview Form on Participating Teacher Opinions 9 prepared with 9 questions. The researcher took notes and recorded the interviews during the interview. The qualitative data obtained from the teachers' views were analyzed using descriptive analysis management. The findings were interpreted within the framework of the arguments of the qualitative research method. According to the findings, teachers stated that an education integrated with values should be given rather than success oriented education. Values education is not only limited to specific days and weeks; all courses should be spread to the base. Since the feelings of conscience do not develop much in the new generation, the interaction with the environment should be increased. Efficiency and play-based trainings should be emphasized in schools. It is necessary to observe the behaviors, behaviors and behaviors that the students exhibit while they are playing together during the breaks, physical activities and leisure activities, visual arts and music lessons, whether they gain values or not. Appropriate school culture and climate should be created in collaboration with all employees. Values should be given to the primary school students because they are abstract. Grade 1 to 4 values education should not be left incomplete and there should be a longitudinal continuity of at least 4 years. Media literacy course should be expanded and taught in schools so that students can learn about the conscious and controlled use of mass media. Families should pay attention to age-limit signs when watching and watching television programs. It should be ensured that mass media are used under the control and monitoring of families. It is imperative that children are constantly monitored for the correct use of technology, and that filtering and restrictions are required to prevent uncontrolled use of the Internet. The short introductory videos, which we call the Public Spot, should be made widespread because they enable children to gain awareness by touching their emotions.
