Özet (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine primary school teachers? opinions and applications on measurement and evaluation in primary education curriculum. Survey method has been used in this descriptive study. The opinions of the teachers have been applied to and for this reason a questionnaire has been developed. The questionnaire has been applied to 590 primary school teachers working at different 47 primary schools out of 158 primary schools in Elazığ city centre by random method. However, five hundred fifteen questionnaires have been taken into account because of the inadequate filling and random marking. Gained data has been analysed by SPSS 15.0 package programme for Windows Evaluation Version.Analysis results have shown that the measurement and evaluation courses that the primary school teachers attended during their bachelor?s degree education and those they attended during their in-service education contributed themselves a lot and the most difficult course they found in applying the activities were Turkish Language course and the most beneficial book they used while defining the measurement and evaluation activities were teachers? guidance books. On the other hand it has been pointed out that knowing levels of measurement and evaluation methods and techniques of the teachers were high and it has been defined that the teachers were better aware of the methods and the techniques particularly such as portfolios, performance tasks, projects, worksheets, observation and level defining tests. Furthermore, it has been defined that the constructed grid is known least in the methods and the techniques by teachers. In general it has been defined that the teachers attending the study had positive opinions on the applications whilst measurement and evaluation process. However it has been defined that the teachers found providing the parents the measurement and evaluation process were the most difficult. The teachers suggested that more materials should be provided for the effective measurement and evaluation processes. In the light of these results, there should be material and source support for measurement and evaluation applications at schools and some studies should be carried out for the parents to corporate in the measurement and evaluation process.
