Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the opinions of classroom teachers working in primary schools in the central district of Rize, within the scope of the 2019-2020 academic year, on out-of school learning activities, how often they use out-of-school learning activities and which out-of school learning activities they try to perform more within the scope of social studies lesson. The first part of the 16-item questionnaire, which is used as a data collection tool in the study conducted as a mixed method research, consists of personal information and the second part consists of questionnaire questions about out of school learning. In the survey application conducted within the province of Rize, 169 classroom teachers have been the first hand source for our study. When the research findings are evaluated, classroom teachers think that frequent out-of-school learning activities, which are extremely important for students to internalize their learning and ensure permanence, will have positive effects. In addition, other opinions expressed by classroom teachers are that it creates an alternative environment where students and teachers can interact, creates a continuous loop in students' classroom activities, provides a wider viewpoint against theoretical knowledge and facilitates teachers to communicate with students more easily. Within the scope of these findings, based on the fact that active use of out of school learning activities in the teaching/learning process will play an important role in achieving the goals of curricula, it is suggested that classroom teachers improve their self-efficacy related to out of school learning activities.
