Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the happiness level of teachers and their intention to quit. Since the relationship between the happiness levels of the teachers and their intention to quit, the relational screening model was considered appropriate. The study group of the research consists of 255 teachers who are primary school teachers in Bolu city center in 2018-2019 academic year. Measurement tools were applied to the teachers who actually perform their duties in all primary schools in the city center of Bolu. In the research, short form of Oxford Happiness Scale and intention to leave scales were used as data collection tool. Whether the sample was normally distributed or not was examined by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk test. Since the distribution is not normal, non-parametric tests were used in the analyzes. Mann Whitney U test to determine whether teachers' level of happiness and intention to quit differ according to gender and education level; Kruskal Wallis test was used to determine whether it differentiated according to seniority and term of office at the current school. Pearson simple linear correlation analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between the happiness levels of the teachers and their intention to leave the job. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a negative and significant relationship between teachers' intention to leave the job scale.
