Abstract (EN)
This research; it was conducted in order to determine the primary teachers' perspectives on the content of music lessons and the way it is taught, the problems they experienced, their inadequacies, needs and expectations. The population of the study consists of primary teachers working in primary schools in Elazig province, and the sample consists of 503 primary teachers working in primary schools in Elazig province in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. in the research; items that require ''yes'' and ''no'' answers for the stealing of the equipment, material and musical instrument related to the work area in the data collection tool; program and curriculum; items related to teacher field competency and music lesson teaching process were used. SPSS 22 package program was used to analyze the data. Percentage, frequency, chi-square test, independent groups t test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data. According to the equipment and material results of the research; most of the teachers participating in the research don't have a music corner in their classrooms. While most of the classrooms have internet connection, more than half of them don't have an interactive (smart) board in their classrooms. More than half of the teachers use a music notebook in music lessons. While most of the teachers participating in the research can't play any musical instruments; the rate of playing musical instruments is higher among those who graduated from the field of classroom teaching than those who graduate from other fields. According to the program and curriculum results; teachers found the music lesson useful in terms of program and curriculum; Participating in the learning outcomes and course hours, they expressed their opinions. According to the results of teacher competence of the research; teachers haven't considered this lesson unnecessary. For the music lesson, primary school teachers see themselves inadequate, they need a course on playing musical instruments and they want experts in their field to enter this lesson. In addition, they think that the music and drama education they had during their undergraduate education is inadequate. According to the results of the course processing process of the research, In this lesson, teachers don't teach a different lesson other than music and they love the music lesson. Teachers who are prefer to teach this course mostly by singing and according to their own plans don't evaluate students with practical (playing musical instruments) and theoretical (musical terms) exams.
