Views of class teachers on special field competencies : Kars province example

In this study class teachers' views on their competencies on special areas of classteachers as determined by the Ministry of Education in 2008 has been determined.Withinframework of class teachers' special field competencies, "The Scale for Determination ofthe Competences of Candidate Class Teachers in Their Custom Fields" was developed andadapted to the teachers. In addition the semi structured interview question form used in thePrimary Education Doctoral Program Evaluation Workshop was also applied and theresults analyzed. Out of the 1446 teachers working in the province of Kars and adjoiningtown centres, 548 responded willingly and out of these 548 class teachers 45 eagerlyresponded to the interview form.Data collected by The Scale for Determination of the Custom Field Competences andwas analized by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Personal characteristicsof the participants' responses across the board were analyzed in order to determinewhether there is a differentiation between the t-test and one-way ANOVA. Analysis of thedata obtained from the interview form, and frequency of statistical procedures, such as,class teachers are responsible for course-related matters was found.In order to determine towhat extent and in which technique, the content analysis findings are presented andinterpreted in tabular form.According to the results obtained, "Recognition and Development" on ingredients,ranging from personal characteristics of teachers were found to vary enough. In general,for questions related to the areas specified in the form of interviews, class teachers reportedthat they saw themselves competent.
