Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate metacognitive awareness levels of primary school teachers by different variables. For this purpose, metacognitive awareness levels of primary school teachers was surveyed and whether this results differ various variables (such as gender, professional seniority, education status, class type, class population) was investigated. This research designed by survey model. The research was carried out with the 232 primary school teachers working in Düzce province in the academic year of 2018-2019. Metacognitive Awareness Inventory which was developed by Schraw and Dennison (1994) and adopted into Turkish by Akın, Abacı, Çetin (2007) was applied and demographic information was obtained. Analyses of this study were analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 software. Based on the findings of the study, primary school teachers had high level metacognitive awareness and female teachers' metacognitive awareness were higher than male teachers. Also there are no significant differences between metacognitive awareness and professional seniority, education status, class type and class population.
