Abstract (EN)
With the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the historical fault lines in Yugoslavia and Georgia, which were dealt with in the study, were mobilized and caused radical changes. In the Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union, the goal of creating a society free from the classless society and individual identities advocated by communism has failed in the world and remained in the classroom in both regions. The desired supranational identity, Yugoslav and Soviet citizens, has been unsuccessful in both regions. The fact that the peoples of both regions did not give up their own identities and that the authority gap formed in both regions after the Cold War caused the movements of ethnic nationalism to rise and become aggressive. The aspiration of Serbian nationalism and to hegemonise other republics to rise in Yugoslavia has triggered nationalist currents in other ethnic groups and led to the development of anti-Serb nationalism. The fact that Gamsahurdiya, who took office with the independence of Georgia, tried to establish a centralist authority under Georgian control with the logic of grup "Georgia is Georgians" caused the revival of nationalism and the emergence of separatist ideas among the ethnic groups as in Yugoslavia. In addition to ethnic nationalism movements, economic and political crises in both regions have caused tension in the region. At the same time, the only way to get rid of these crises in both regions has been sought in ethnic nationalism and chauvinism. Another factor, due to the structural changes experienced in the international conjuncture, has led to the bloody disintegration of Yugoslavia, as Georgia declared independence and found itself in ethnic conflicts. Ethnic conflicts that have emerged from a regional problem and turned into an international problem have confronted the US and RF. Both forces have been questioned in the international system, as well as military operations in the regions without regard to international reactions. Both forces have been questioned in the international system, as well as military operations in the regions without regard to international reactions. In this study, the comparative analysis methodology shows how both countries are drawn into the circle of ethnic conflicts in the post-Cold War period, failure in the creation of supranational identity, the realization of authority gap, how the states live the process of v stateization in a painful way, and how destructive role ethnicity plays on both sides tried to be kept.
