Cold war process and its impact on Turkey (1939-1952)

After Second World War, following the emergence of the USA and USSR as superpowers, a new equilibrium emerged in the world. The World was divided around thes two forces and system of Bipoloar was formed, which would affect the political, economic and socio-cultural structures of the countries. Cold War, which was mainly between the USSR aiming to expand and Western Allies trying to prevent this expansion, began at the begining of the Second World War in Turkey. Soviet demands affected the Turkey's internal and external policies in the Scond World War. With beginning of the Cold War, ideological struggle for communism-capitalism, political dissemination of the Soviet Union and the struggle for the inclusion of the West began. Turkey was allied with the US in the face of Soviet oppression and requests by this struggle, anti-communism, more generally anti-sovietism had become US influence. Turkey's foreign policy, political, economic and socio-cultural structure had been shaped by this situation.
