Exergoeconomic analysis of arc plasma gasification system with cooling column

Abstract (EN)

The main objective of this thesis is to perform the exergoeconomic analysis of the double feed-arc plasma gasification system with cooling column. In this regard, exergoeconomic analysis studies have been carried out by using the data obtained from the test and performance experiments using 25 kg of organic waste each. For exergoeconomic analysis studies, the exergoeconomic factor (fexseco) was calculated by taking into account some parameters such as operating life, working time, operation and maintenance-repair factor, exergy destruction, unit cost of electricity and organic waste. In addition, parametric variation of fexseco was analyzed by changing these parameters. In the calculations performed; i) Exergy loss in the system was calculated to be 427.42 MJ in test experiment and 301.85 MJ in performance experiments, ii) The exergy efficiency of the system was determined to be 36.53% in the test experiment and 51.20% in the performance experiment, iii) Initial investment improvement factor was estimated to be 0.087, iv) Total cost flow brought to a value was found to be 11.33 Euro.h-1 in test experiment and 13,60 Euro.hr-1 in performance experiment, v) Cost of total exergy losses was 12.41 Euro.hr-1 in test experiment and 13.03 Euro.hr-1 in performance experiment, vi) The fexseco was calculated to be 0.48 in the test experiment and 0.51 in the performance experiment, vii) The recovery rate of the system was determined to be 6.3%. Consequently, increasing the operating life and working time in both experiments decreased the fexseco value. Increasing the operating and repair factor and reducing exergy losses increased the exergyeconomic value. In addition, increasing the unit cost of electricity and organic waste will increase the costs associated with exergy loss, thus reducing the fexseco.
