Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to evaluate prothrombotic status in dogs with left ventricular dysfunction after echocardiographic examination. In the study phase, 25 out of 35 dogs constituted the patient group and 10 constituted the healthy control group. As a result of echocardiographic examination, long axis, short axis and apical axis images were obtained by using B Mode and M Mode in the right parasternal position; ejection fraction, fractional shortening, diastole and systole phase; interventricular septum, inner diameter of left ventricle, free wall of left ventricle were measured. Mitral regurgitation was evaluated at the level of mitral valves. After echocardiographic examination, cardiac biomarkers such as D-dimer, NT-proBNP, CK-MB, cTnI and Myo and such as APTT, FIB and PT coagulation profiles were evaluated in dogs with left ventricular dysfunction and in healthy control dogs. As a result of statistical evaluation of M-mode echocardiographic measurements, LA diameter increase (p = 0,028) and AO / LA ratio decrease (p = 0,012) were found in dogs in the diseased group. There was a statistically significant difference between patient and control dogs in terms of PT time (p = 0.001), D-dimer concentration measurement (p = 0.000), CK-MB enzyme activity (p = 0.023) measurement of myoglobin concentration (p = 0.000). In conclusion it may be safely suggested that PT time, D-dimer concentration, CK-MB enzyme activity and myoglobin concentration analysis deemed valuable for interpretation of prothrombotic status in dogs with left ventricular dysfunction.
