Abstract (EN)

Molecular modeling of sequences and structures of proteins and nucleic acids involved in respiratory diseases In this thesis, protein and nucleic acids in Quorum Sensing which is an important mechanism in biofilm formation of 7 selected microorganisms in respiratory diseases are examined by molecular modeling and sequence comparison. The amino acid and nucleic acid sequences of the proteins were taken from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ and https://www.uniprot.org/ databases. Alignment was performed to find common nucleic acid and amino acid sequences in MEGA 7. 0. 26 program. With the algorithm created in PyCharm Community Edition 2018.3.4, the similarity percentages of these sequences were calculated. In the https://swissmodel.expasy.org/ database, 3-dimensional structures of these proteins were created and these models were compared and common structures were found in UCSF Chimera 1.13.1 (University of California, 2000) program. The https://web.expasy.org/protparam/database was used to examine the physical and chemical properties. As a result, common sequences and structures were obtained. It is thought that these results can contribute to the production of biofilm formation prevention solutions. Keywords; Molecular modeling; Quorum Sensing; Respiratory diseases; Biofilm.
