Abstract (EN)
Today, media literacy and entrepreneurship skills are two important subjects of both lifelong learning and Social Studies teaching. This study has been carried out within the scope of Social Studies teaching and the two skills were dealt with by correlating them with each other. The aim of the study is to determine the relationship between the media literacy levels of secondary school students and their entrepreneurship levels in the context of the Social Studies school subject. The universe of this research consists of secondary school students studying in the city center and districts of Rize in the 2020-2021 academic year. This study was designed according to the mixed method approach in which both quantitative and qualitative research methods are used together. 700 secondary school students participated in the quantitative part of the study. 30 secondary school students participated in the qualitative part of the study. In this study, "Personal Information Form", "Entrepreneurship Scale for Secondary School Students", " Secondary School Media Literacy Level Determination Scale" and "Semi-structured Interview Form" were used as data collection tools. Frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were calculated statistically for the analysis of the quantitative data used in the research; t-test for paired groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and cruscal wallis test for groups of more than two, correlation analysis to determine the relationship, and regression analysis to determine the predictive power were used. The qualitative data of the research were evaluated by content analysis technique. According to the quantitative results of the study, it has been determined that the media literacy levels of the students are at a medium level, and the entrepreneurship levels of the students are at a high level. In the context of Social Studies school subject, it has been concluded that the media literacy levels of secondary school students are positively moderately correlated with their entrepreneurship levels. It has been determined that the level of media literacy is a significant predictor of the level of entrepreneurship. According to the qualitative results of the research, It has been revealed that secondary school students emphasize that there are common aspects between media literacy and entrepreneurship.
