Determining the competences of social studies teachers according to out-of-school learning activities-Tokat province example

ABSTRACT This study tries to determine the competences of social studies teachers in planning, implementing and managing out-of-school learning activities. This study utilized form Likert-type out-ofscool learning organisation scale developed by Bolat and Kökoğlu (2020), so as to determine the ability of social studies working in Tokat province to plan, implement and manage out-of-school learning activities afficiently, consisting of 29 items and 4 sections ( knowledge, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation). This study used, descriptive survey as one of the quantitative method desingns. 210 Secal Studies teachers joined this study and via Whatsapp groups, we had the opportunity giving them the chance to be selected equally , starting from a homogeneous population list of 307 people, that is, only Social Studies teachers. The results has shown the fact that trough the obtained data with the ouof-school learning organisation scale applied to social studies teachers working in Tokat provice, it has been found out how edequate social studies teachers are in out-of-school learning activities and according to the results obtained, it has shed light on taking measures to eliminate the deficiencies of social studies teachers in this field. Within the perspective of the data of this study, it will contribute to the field of using out-of-school learning activities more in social studies courses and improving the competences that teachers should have in this field as out-of-school.
