Socialization experiences of refugees in social, economic and political context

This thesis focuses on the difficulties refugees face in the social, economic and political context and their strategies to deal with these challenges. The social cohesion process of refugees is important in that they adapt to the culture and social structure of the countries in which they migrate. In this process, refugees face many difficulties such as language, cultural differences, difficulties in finding jobs and discrimination. Economically, refugees appear to have difficulties in finding jobs and job security. This situation causes refugees to be negatively affected at the point of socialization. In order to overcome the difficulties faced by refugees in the process of finding a job, it is necessary to keep the resident public conscious, to eliminate differences in access to rights and to keep the unequal organization of the workforce under control. Politically, refugees have many problems such as asylum, citizenship rights and social rights. Such problems can create difficulties in the legal status and social acceptance of refugees. Respect for the political rights of refugees and the protection of their social and social rights are an important factor in the social cohesion process. In this thesis, which deals with the socialization experiences of refugees in the social, economic and political context, the difficulties faced by refugees and the strategies to deal with these difficulties were examined and the problems faced by the refugees in the social cohesion process were tried to be understood. The thesis was conducted using the qualitative research method. Research, migrants from various countries and refugees living in Turkey participated. The data were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews under the guidance of the semi-structured questionnaire. This thesis, which makes an important contribution to the socialization experiences of refugees and the factors affecting these experiences, aims to raise awareness and develop policy recommendations on the social acceptance and social cohesion of refugees.
