Abstract (EN)

This study focuses on the examination of lifestyle migration and social media from the perspective of young individuals. The aim is to highlight the influence of social media on the motivations of young individuals undergoing lifestyle migration. A qualitative research method is preferred in this thesis, and the interview technique, one of the qualitative research techniques, is employed in the field study. The interviews were conducted in an online environment. The research population consists of individuals who migrated from Turkey to abroad. The sample group is composed of migrants aged between 12 and 24. As a result of the research, it is observed that social media has an indirect impact on the motivation of young people to migrate. Lifestyle migration stands out among the reasons for migration. There is a differentiation between participants' expectations before migration and their situations after migration. Contrary to the assumption in the research, participants' motivation to return to their countries is high.
