Equality opportunities as a social policy tool and the role of education

The subject aimed to research in this is to examine the role of education in providing equal opportunity. By examining the concept of equality as equal opportunity, it can be aimed to research the effectiveness and efficiency of education in providing equal opportunities in society. Literature scanning method was chosen in this study . In order to understand the subject better, it has been explained in tables using TUİK, OECD and PISA numerical data. As a result of the research, it was determined that education is effective in providing equal opportunity and equal opportunity affects inviduals social positions. In addition, it's been determined that equal opportunity affects not only individuals but also generations. Also it's been revealed that the adopted ideologies have effects on both education and equality of opportunity, on social life and individuals and it's been determined that the economic status of families has a big impact on children's education. If the influence of the economy and ideologies on education is eliminated, big progress can be made towards reducing inequalities. The difference in quality and qualification between regions and educational institutions should be exterminated. It is known that if education is saved from the influence of families or other external factors and also if the conditions are brought to the same level as possible, education will have a big role in ensuring equality of opportunity and equal opportunities in education.
