Abstract (EN)

Çivril was established in the plain of Denizli Province and named after it. Due to the fertile plain lands, the settlement dates back to 5500 BC. Beycesultan Höyük excavation has brought to light the remains of these settlements. Çivril and its surroundings were under the rule of Arzawa Kingdom, Phrygian Kingdom, Lydian Kingdom, Persian Imrator, Alexander the Great Empire, Seleucid Kingdom, Pergamon Kingdom, Roman Empire, Eastern Roman Empire, Seljuk State, Germiyan Principality, Ottoman Empire, respectively. In 1429, when he entered under the Ottoman rule, Şeyhlü and Homa were connected to the Kütahya Sanjak by making an accident. In the following years, Şeyhlü and Homa were turned into towns. The name Şeyhlü was changed in 1873 and made to Işık. At the end of the 19th century, it became a district of Sandıklı district. Homa has become a village connected to Işıklı. A municipal organization was established in the Işıklı district in 1888. Işıklı district moved to Çivril in 1893-1895. Now the town center is Çivril. Çivril became an accident in 1914 and was attached to the starboard of Karahisar-ı Sahip. The first Greek occupation took place on January 08, 1921 and was liberated on January 17, 1921. On April 1, 1921 II. It was occupied by the Greek and survived on August 30, 1921. Çivril left Afyonkarahisar province on 15 April 1925 and was connected to Denizli province. It is still a district of Denizli Province. In 1927, the population of the center was 2,800 and the population of the district was 21,578. In 1960, the population of the center was 5.338 and the population of the district was 47.460. It has always been an important region as an agricultural economy. With the construction of the Railway in 1889, agricultural products were moved to Denizli and Izmir regions. Çivril and its surroundings have found a market more easily for their products.
