Abstract (EN)
Georg Simmel contributed a lot to sociology due to the variety of his interests. He is the representative of micro tradition and he has also an open mind in his surveys such as small groups, social interactivite communication and social exchange theory. So it is possible to locate Simmel in modern sociology.Simmel claims that sociology has an original research area while he also differentiates sociology from other sciences. Form this, he added the term ?formal sociology? into the sociology literature. Simmel, who claims that society is indeed an interaction of a real between two people, focuses on social geometry. In this frame, he examines social prototypes.One of Simmel?s most respected studies is ?The Philosophy of Money?. In this study, he examines the role of money in the growth of modern society . In this context, money is sometimes the objective, while it is sometimes the means.Simmel?s certain studies such as the reforming big cities, the core of modern society still inspire new studies. In addition to the intellectual sources, he has also affected conflict theorists, symbolic interactionists, and structuralists.
