Abstract (EN)

In an abstract painting visual perception is effected by persons psychology, experiences, beliefs, desires and his/her relation with the thing that perceived. Depth as an illusion which created by those elements is a combination of perspective, line, light, color, texture, oppositeness, spacing and their effects in physic, physiologic and psychologic means.With the use of line perspective, third dimension effect is more accurately created in painting art and perspective used in many painting styles to create depth effect except abstract painting art. In abstract painting art, basic principles of painting such as line, dot, color and spacing used in different tecniques without relation to perspective. In abstract painting pieces of art became more simple (composition wise), compositions usually created without concerns for telling and description.In this thesis; Factors that creates depth illusion and use of those factors in abstract painting are tried to be explained.
