Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out with the aim of examining the Relationship between muscular impulse and sociocultural attitudes towards appearance of those who exercise in sports Centers. A questionnaire form consisting of 3 sections will be used as a data collection tool. In the first part of the questionnaire, there are questions related to demographic findings, and in the second part, there are questionnaire questions in which the pertaining to muscular drive. In the third part, the sociocultural attitudes towards appearance scale is included. The Drive for Muscularity Scale was developed by McCreary and Sasse in (2000)measuring the desire to be muscular. The scale in question was developed in a study involving 197 adolescent participants, and in the related study, it was found that the urge to be muscular indicates a different concept from the urge to be thin/weak. The scale is in 5-point Likert type and consists of 15 items. In the third part, the Scale of Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance will be applied. Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance it was developed to measure sociocultural effects on body image by Thompson, van den Berg, Roehrig, Guarda, and Heinberg (2004). It is a 5-point liker-type self-report scale consisting of 30 items. High scores obtained from the scale indicate that the individual perceives sociocultural effects on body image as higher.
