Invastigation of value judiciary of sport management department students

The aim of this study is to examine the value judgments of sports management students studying in sports sciences faculties and physical education and sports colleges in universities in Turkey and TRNC in terms of different variables. For this purpose, a 39-item Values Scale consisting of nine sub-dimensions developed by Dilmaç, Arıcak and Cesur (2014) was used. The sub-dimensions of the scale are "social values", "career values", "intellectual values", "spirituality", "materialistic values", "human dignity", "romantic values" 'freedom' and 'fütüvvet'. The scale was applied to sports management students studying at universities in Turkey and TRNC in the 2020-2021 academic year. A total of 404 volunteer students, 165 (40.8%) female and 239 (59.2%) male, participated in the study. When the value sub-dimension point averages of the sports management students participating in the research were examined, it was seen that the least materialistic values and romantic values, the most, respectively, social values, freedom, intellectual values, human dignity, career values, futuwwa and spirituality. The value judgments of sports management students also contain significant differences in terms of different variables. Considering the descriptive statistics of the sub-dimensions of the values scale of the students participating in the research, it was seen that the average scores were quite high. From this point of view, it can be said that sports management students have high value perceptions and give importance to values in general. Therefore, it can be said that the students will be able to adopt the organizational values of the sports institutions, organizations and organizations that they will take part in in the future, and that organization-individual value harmony can be achieved. On the other hand, the high value perceptions of sports management students may enable them to create a positive organizational climate in the institutions where they may work in the future.
