Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of participation in sport on peer relations. The study included 572 (52.5%) male, 518 (47.5%) female 1090 individuals aged 10-15 years. The Peer Relationship Scale, which was adapted to Turkish by Atik, Çok, Çoban, Doğan and Karaman (2014), was used to evaluate the peer relations of the participants. The scale consists of 22 items and 5 sub-dimensions (Association sub-dimension, Conflict Sub-Size, Help Sub-Size, Protection Sub-Size, Proximity Sub-dimension). SPSS 15 package program was used to evaluate the study. Descriptive statistics of the data were analyzed. In the data analysis, the distribution of the distribution was examined first. Normality distribution was done by Shapiro-Wilk test. It was found that the data do not provide normality values. Mann-Whitney U and One Way Anaova test were used to evaluate the data. The mean peer relationships, physical activity subscales, subscale subscale, subscale subscale, subscale subscale subscale were significantly higher than those who did not participate in physical activity (p <0.05). In the conflict sub-dimension, although the average of peer relations was lower than the ones who did not participate in the physical activity, the difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). General peer relations order averages, sub-dimension of sub-dimension, protection sub-dimension order averages were found to be significantly higher than those who did not participate in physical activity (p <0.05). The proximity sub-dimension, the conflict sub-dimension, the protection sub-dimension order averages are in favor of licensed sports. The difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). As a result, participation in sports can positively affect peer relations.
