The issue of prophecy in the Sırât-ı Müstakîm journal

Prophecy is one of the main subjects of the science of Kalam. In the history of Islam, scholars of Kalam and philosophers of Islam have produced a large literatüre on prophecy. The ideas put forward about the possibility of prophecy are still valid today. In this context, prophecy is still a current issue. In this study, we examined how the subject of prophecy was handled in the Sirat-i Müstakim Journal, wich started its publication life with the proclamation of the Second Constitutional Monarchy and still continues to be published under the name of Sebilurreshad. We preferred to compese our study in introduction and two main parts. In the introduction, we have included the histories of Sirat-ı Müstakim and its squel, Sebilurreshad, in order to make the intellectual structure of the journal understandable. We touched on the authors of the journals and the subjects they dealt with. In the first part, after briefly explaining the concepts related to the subject, we touched on the issue of prophecy in the context of Mâturîdism. The possibility of prophethood, its ruling, the characteristics of the prophets, we discussed topics such as the prophethood the Prophet Muhammad (phub), emotional, mental and spiritual miracles, Miraj Event, the miracle of the Qur'an, the concept of ismet, which expresses whether the prophets, the miracle of saints. In the second part, we discussed the issue of prophecy in the context of Sirat-i Müstakim. The necessity of prophecy discussed in the journal, after mentioning the morality of Muhammed (phub), which is described as spiritual miracle, and the miracle of the Qur'an, which is described as a mental miracle, the answers given to the orientalists of the period in general, Manastırlı's answers to Dozy in particular, Garanik Event evaluated in the context of prophecy, Noah's Flood, Europenas we drew attention to the perceptions of Muhammad (phub) and the Qur'an.
