Abstract (EN)
Stoic Philosophy, founded by Zeno of Krition in the century BC III, is one of the important philosophical schools of the Hellenistic period. From its inception, it influenced different schools of philosophy and was influenced by many philosophers. Nature is at the center of Stoic Philosophy and it questions the possibility of an immanent life. This life, too, is possible with physics investigating nature. Stoic philosophers think that living in accordance with nature will make an ethical life possible. According to the Stoic philosophy, which is in line with nature, an ethical life is also a reasonable life. It also means a good life. For Stoic philosophy, the most important purpose of an ethical life is to reach a serene(ataraxia) and wise life. What is the place of serenes(Pathos) in a wise life? Do all serenes become an obstacle to a quiet life? What is the criterion that serenes do not constitute an obstacle to a quiet life? In our study, the answers to these questions were sought in the context of the physics-ethics relationship of Stoic philosophy, and it was suggested that considering all of the affections as an obstacle to the thought of ataraxia would be an inaccurate interpretation of Stoic philosophy. Keywords: Stoa, Ethics, Physics, Pathos, Nature, Ataraxia
