Özet (EN)

The aim of this study was to prepare copper and MgO composites using powder metallurgy technique and to test the effect of nano MgO content on the structural, physical and mechanical properties of the composites. MgO was annealed in different percentages (2, 4, 6, 8, 10)% with copper percentages (98, 96, 94, 92, 90)%. The powders used were dried at 200 °C for one hour and after grinding and mixing for 2 hours, the samples were pressed and then thermally sintered in an oven at 900 °C for two hours. The results of the present study showed that copper can be strengthened using magnesium nanoparticles. Cu is a material that softens at high temperatures. By adding MgO to copper, it was observed that the material showed a different property and its hardness increased. Necessary tests such as apparent density, apparent density, microstructure, Vickers hardness, absolute porosity, EDS, water absorption, thermal conductivity, compressive strength and wear rate were performed. In addition, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) analyses were performed to find the structure of the material used.
