Students' perceptions and experiences about face-to-face and online education during pandemic

This study aims to obtain an in-depth description about the effectiveness of face-to-face and online and hybrid education based on students' and the teacher's experiences using the respective platforms, their perceptions about the participation levels, views regarding assessments and feedback and opinions, preferences, assumptions, and recommendations based on the three educational platforms. Data were gathered utilizing test instruments in the form of open-ended questionnaires. The data was then processed based on the focus of this study. An in-depth descriptive qualitative analysis was performed based on the data results to gain a deeper understanding of what students and the instructor feel about face-to-face and online platforms. The findings of the study showed that students and teacher supported the face-to-face educational platform, and they had positive views regarding it. The students and instructor did appreciate the online platform in the Covid-19 period and one of the factors was the opportunity to be able to continue education under such unusual circumstances, however, the implementation of online learning during the Covid-19 period was deemed ineffective by the teacher and most of the students.
