Abstract (EN)

The current study was aimed to determination the levels of some Hematological parameters, serum iron, TIBC, hepcidin, testosterone and some vitamins in β thalassimia minor patients. 140 subjects, reported for infected with β thalassemia in Khanaqin Hospital (blood bank and blood donation centre) from April 2022 to July 2022 in Diyala Governorate / Khanaqin city and its affiliated areas. The experiments were conducted in private labs in the Iraqi province of Diyala. In the present research, the participants were split up as follows: Group A: 55 men with thalassemia minor patients. Group B: 55 women with thalassemia minor patients. Group C: 30 healthy subjects without thalassemia minor patients (control group). The results showed the percentage of HbA1 in males (93.32± 0.75) and in females (93.34± 0.99), while HbA2 was in males (4.94 ± 0.695) and females (5.09 ± 0.762), while in the control group, the percentage of HbA1 in males (97.13±0.401) and in females (97.6± 0.476), while HbA2 was in males (2.22 ± 0.353) and in females (2.34 ± 0.233). The present investigation found statistically significant (P <0.05) variations in the variables of interest. Hematological measures in thalassemia patients, including hemoglobin concentration, PCV, MCV, and MCH percentages, indicated substantial (P <0.05) reductions in patients compared to the control group.
