Abstract (EN)
This study addressing the process of transformation of physical, chemical and aesthetic characteristics of glass material into the art object with the unique ideas and skill of the artist and artists creating it comprises of four parts.In the first part of the study the presence of the glass as the material in the history, chemical structure as the material and development of different shaping methods since the discovery of the glass were explained with examples under the title of ?Definition, history and shaping of glass?.In the second part titled ?Factors affecting the development of glass as an artistic expression? Industry Revolution, Exhibitions and Fairs, Arts & Crafts Movement- Art Nouveau Movement, Art Deco Art Movement, Studio Glass Movement and schooling contributing to the formation of glass art were described.In the third part artists using the glass with different styles in international terms were explained under the title of ?use of glass with different styles as an artistic expression method?. This part was limited to ten artists in the harmony with the art concept of the age since the subject is very extensive.On the fourth and final section, the personal applications and explanation are mentioned which has been made by pate de verre technique.
