In this study, Suat Derviş who had many works in the country and out of country as a writer and as a journalist, whose life had tried to be forgotten and life story began in the last years of Ottoman and ended in 1972, also her personality and works was tried to come to light. Mrs. Suat Derviş, who was born in 1905 and was a professor as Darülfünun, was Professor Ismail Denis's daughter and Reşat Fuat Baraner's wife. She had a private education, attended Berlin conservatory and Literature Faculty. When she came back to Turkey in 1932, she wrote for many newspapers is İstanbul, in 1940 and 1941, she published a literature newspaper called "Yeni Edebiyat" (New Literature). Her husband was arrested because of political reasons, and she had to live in France between 1953 and 1963. When she returned back, she dealt with the publication of her novels and contributed the establisment of " Devrimci Kadınlar Birliği" (The Association of Revolutionist Women) Suat Derviş, who started her literature life with her poem "Hezeyan" (Delirium) written in prose, is the first woman to prepare a page for women for a newspaper called "İkdam" in 1926. She wrote short features, articles and stories for German newspapers and became popular with her novels when she came back to Turkey. She not only contributed the development of social literature with her articles and critics in " Yeni Edebiyat", but also had a role as an innovator for realistic literature with her novels. Beside her novels, published and translated into other languages, many of her novels could only take place as serials in newspapers. Suat Derviş, as a socialist, realist writer with her novels, stories, short features and interviews on social subjects, is an intellectual artist who has to be known by new generations.
