Abstract (EN)

Şükrü Erbaş is one of the prominent poets of modern-day Turkish literature. He who published his first poem in the magazine named "Varlık" in 1978 and has many awards so far, has been continuing his writing life with the profession of poems. Erbaş based his works on the rooted folk poetry and also blended them with contemporary literature. However, he also considered about the variety of the themes. As a general outlook of his poems, social issues, death, loneliness, love and separation are the main themes that can be observed in the first place. However, it is the woman factor who takes place as an important issue in the basic construction of all these concerned themes. The theme of woman, one of the most functional theme in literature, has a chance to survive to the present by offering a very effective structure in both prose and poetry. In this respect, in the poet's poetry, the image of woman as a mother, beloved, spouse, child or a peasant, has underlied of love, separation, longing and death. In the light of this information, it is clear that it is possible for the woman, who has taken places in many roles in our lives, to see every state in her poems. The main aim of the thesis is to examine, deepen and observing the phenomenon of women in Şükrü Erbaş's poetry which takes its place in his poems from past to the present, so as to reveal the aspect of woman's role in society.
