Abstract (EN)

Our world, which is getting crowded day by day, has led people to seek solutions for rapidly depleting resources and increasing pollution problems. The concept of sustainability, which emphasizes the need to act responsibly in all areas of our lives and to use the opportunities we have in a balanced way, has become a subject of particular importance today. Libraries, one of the first places that come to our minds when it comes to lifelong learning, are also expected to act consciously in this regard. Both librarians and other staff working in libraries are expected to be aware of how sustainable the institutions in which they work. In the research conducted with the case study model, the interview technique, which is one of the qualitative data collection techniques, was used. Within the scope of the research, 27 questions were asked to the staff of Başkent University Library, 23 of which were closed- ended, using the interview technique. Again, interviews were held with construction project managers on the subject and 14 open-ended questions were asked. The findings were evaluated comparatively, the current situation was revealed and various suggestions were made for university libraries to become greener.
