Abstract (EN)

Since the beginning human beings have interacted with nature and continued their existence by using the sources nature has. After the industrial revolution energy need increased due to technological advances and changes in lifestyles. As a result of this, depleting energy sources became important raw materials for many countries because of their strategic values. Energy sources and natural resources on earth are limited. For this reason protective design approaches has emerged as energy sources and existing natural resources were used effectively. Current principles of the energy sources conservation discipline not only deals with conservation but also with sustainability. As these two concept approach each other in this discipline both the conservation and sustainability concepts can be conceptualized together. From this perspective landscaping architecture became topic of study focusing on sustainability and ensuring energy efficiency. This thesis examines how to ensure energy efficiency through landscape design and how a link can be established between the modern men trapped between concrete blocks and nature, thanks to efficient landscaping design. In the landscape design studies, some suggestions were given for effective used of energy and efficient use of natural resources. Keywords: Sustainable architecture, energy, landscape, energy efficient landscape design.
