The sociological effect fored migration from Syria to Turkey after 2010

Arab Spring, which is thought to be West origin and has the aim of ascribing positive meanings to the process lived, could not build the democratic wave that it brought in The Middle East which is in a geostrategic and geopolitical location, has a rooted civilization and different dynamics in it. Arab Spring, which spreads negative effects to not only Middle East society but also several societies, has also affected Turkey. It is factual that Turkey, which has formed migration policy and organizational structure over cognate migration namely over the nations having the same cultural heritage and history, could not forecast the results of other movements of migration except for this kind of migration. This is because while Turkey has accepted a total 2 million immigrants from 1923 to the present day, over 2 million and 2 thousand Syrians migrated to Turkey between April 2011 and October 2015. In this context, it is of vital importance that Turkey, which was firstly a transit and then became a target country for the international movements of migration that lifted its effectiveness in the world with Arab Spring, should manage the phenomenon of forced migration contemporarily and better. This theoretical study prepared as a M.A. thesis has aimed to explain both how the events that have prepared remodeling of The Middle East have affected Turkey in terms of forced migration and measures taken by Turkey. As analyzing all of the countries in which Arab Spring has occurred exceeds the framework of the study, review of literature technique has been preferred with reference to the secondary resources. While the information related to the subject and importance of the study has been given in the section, the theoretical framework related to the subject has been dealt with in the second section. The events and facts that show the reflections of Arab Spring over Turkey have been mentioned in the third section. In the fourth section, an assessment related to the sociological effects of the forced migration happened in Syria during the period of Arab Spring over Turkey has been made. The fifth section, which forms the last section, has been allocated for interpretation of secondary resources obtained as a result of review of literature. Arab Spring process, which is deemed suitably for being examined in sociology field primarily as it has brought about social events starting with the demand of democracy, has leaded to many concerns in Turkey because of the forced migration created by it. In this context, as there are not enough studies in sociology science about the effects of forced migration taking place from Syria over Turkey, it is thought that this study will make a contribution to the literature.
