Abstract (EN)
Migration is an event that has been happening since the day humanity existed. This migration event can happen for various reasons, and sometimes it happens depending on the will of the person, and sometimes it is mandatory. Together with the civil war in Syria in 2011, many Syrian citizens had to migrate from where they were located to another country. Turkey has been one of the countries where the Syrian people have migrated the most due to its location. Mental disorders that can be observed in Syrian citizens who have experienced both war and migration trauma have been studied in various studies. In this study, the post-traumatic stress level and psychological wellbeing of women who are classified as sensitive group were examined. The relational screening model was used in the research. A purposeful sampling method was used to determine the research sample. 312 Syrian women who were residents of Istanbul and applied to a non-governmental organization and were made up of their acquaintances participated. "Personal Information Form", "Harvard Trauma Scale" and "Psychological Well-Being Scale" were used as data collection tools. Pearson Moment Product Correlation Analysis (r) method was used to decipher the relationship between post-traumatic stress level and psychological well-being levels in the analysis of the obtained data. In order to determine the differentiation of variables according to marital status and working status, the Independent Sample t Test was used, and Spearman Brown Rank Differences Correlation Analysis (rs) methods were used to examine their relationship with age and simple linear regression analysis methods were used to examine the predictive power of psychological well-being level on post-traumatic stress level. In the findings obtained, it was found that the level of post-traumatic stress and psychological well-being did not differ statistically significantly according to marital status and working status. A positive relationship was found between psychological well-being and the age variable and a negative relationship was found between the level of post-traumatic stress and the level of psychological well-being. Positive relationships with others and self-acceptance sub-dimensions of the psychological well-being scale were found to be effective in predicting the level of post-traumatic stress. According to the results of the research, the increase in the level of post-traumatic stress in Syrian women indicates that it reduces psychological well-being.
