Religious socialization of Syrian asylum Ki̇li̇s example

This thesis is a field research that investigates the factors and tools affecting the process of religious socialization of asylum who socialized in the sociocultural envoriment that started with Syrian migration to Kilis after Syria entered an endless civil war since 2011. The family, social environment, religious educational institutions and social media as a new religious socialization tool, which are influential in the socialization of asylum seekers during the migration process, appear as important elements. In this study, the phenomenon and processes of religious socialization that the aslyum in Kilis have experienced since the day of their migration have been examined. In addition, pre-and post-migration religious lives were interpreted within the framework of piety. This research, structured with a qualitative method and a verstehende (interpretive) approach, involves the exploratory of how asylum seekers make sense of and interpret the religious socialization after Kilis. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with asylum seekers. The study consists of two parts. İn the introduction, subject of research, problem, purpose, importance, limitations of the research are defined. In the first chapter, migration and migration theories, pull and push factors of migration with the tools of religious socialization were examined theoretically. In the second chapter, the findings were analyzed and interpreted in the light of theoretical knowledge.
