Abstract (EN)

The sample of this study consists of Syriac women living in Mardin Midyat. Our study consists of five chapters. In the first part, the subject, purpose, importance, limitations and method of the research in the research methodology are discussed. In the second part, it constitutes a conceptual and theoretical framework. Based on the definition of culture, the Assyrian culture is touched upon. The ethnic origin, the languages they use, and their historians are emphasized. On the theoretical framework axis, the perspective of marxism based on sociology, symbolic interactionism and the main core part of Garfinkel's ethnomethodology is included. In the third section, the principles of worship and beliefs of Syriacism, birth, marriage, death rituals, holidays and holy days, and artistic activities specific to men, in which the cultural reflection of Syriacism on women's daily lives are discussed. The fourth part is based on the findings of the research and the discussions with the participating women, 'Preferred Form of Marriage', 'Age of Marriage', 'Marriage Decision', 'Perspective of Divorce', 'The Way of Taking Land in the Family', The Importance of Gender in Having Children ' Within the framework of the questions of the importance of the sect in the marriage decision, the religious dimension of the marriage ceremony, the position of the woman in the church, the effect of the educational situation on the social position of the woman, the process of forming a political perspective of women and the economic dependency of the woman. The fifth and last part of the study is the conclusion part where the whole evaluation of the study is made.
