Abstract (EN)

This study focuses on the narrations transmitted by Katâda b. Di'âme in the section of the Jâmi' al-Bayân 'an Tawîlî Âyât al-Qur'ân (The Comprehensive Explanation of the Interpretation of the Verses of the Qur'an) by Muhammad b. Jarîr al-Tabarî, specifically in the chapter on Surah al-Baqarah. Katâda b. Di'âme, one of the most prominent exegetes of the Tabi'în (Successors) period, is regarded as the head of the fourth generation of Islamic exegesis. Due to his strong memory and sharp intellect, he was recognized as a trustworthy narrator in the field of Hadith. The narrations he transmitted regarding Qur'anic exegesis constitute an important part of his scholarly legacy. Katâda played a significant role in understanding the messages of the Qur'an, and he contributed numerous narrations that advanced the development of Qur'anic sciences. In his narrations, Katâda included not only reports from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) but also the opinions of the Sahabah (Companions) and Tabi'în (Successors). By doing so, he followed the path of the exegetes before him and in his time, while deepening this scholarly heritage through his own interpretations of the verses.
