Study of Tanzimat Period theatre works in terms of folklore

Culture is one of the most important factors that present its character and its saving and helps to build its future. From this point of view folk culture constitutes the fundamental character of a nation.Our folk culture, which is shaped by the experiences 20 centuries, lives in oral and written customs. Analyzing the theatre works, which are important in Tanzimat Period, in the terms of folklore builds up our topic of study. Generally social subjects are in the fore front ande the main purpose is to raise the awareness of public in the theatres of this period, it reflects the culture of nation and valves of society.İn this regard, we tried to put forth similar and different sides by comparing the folkloric and cultural factors in the theatre Works of important figures in Turkish Literature history like Hayrullah Efendi, Şinasi, Namık Kemal, Ahmet Mithat Efendi, Director Ali Bey, Feraizcizade Mehmet Şakir, Ahmet Vefik Paşa, Recaizade Mahmt Ekrem, Abdulhak Hamit Tarhan, Şemseddin Sami and Ebuzziya Tevfik.The situation that we tried to set forth in our study is to what extent folkloric factors are found in a theatre text, their ways of usage and the results. The importance of cultural factors for folklore and modern literature disciplines with their correct usage and the richness that they add to narratives is evaluated here. And also we evaluated the results of material exchange between disciplines.
