Abstract (EN)

Humankind, the creator of civilization, has created an art by combining the power of water, earth and fire with hand and brain power, and named it ceramics. Having been collated in Anatolia 8000 years before this, water, earth and fire the miracles of nature-created a history on their own. Anatolian territories holding numerous cultures in themselves have created a document which enables us to perceive history by witnessing the history of mankind's most important revolutions. Ceramics, a way of life all by itself, has gain different meanings in different cultures within the time in the area of arts, design, technology, religion and in the mythology by uniting the concept of culture. When we study the history of ceramics and made a mysterios journey with speaking pots and pans, it can be said that ceramics has created a turning point for human history in every society and has entered daily life and thus has become a way of life. In this thesis, the theory of ceramics, which differs from society to society, has been associated with the concept of culture and cultural reflections of ceramics on lifestyles in prehistorican and ancient societies through a mysterious journey. It was aimed to put forward the place of culture in society with ceramic art.Besides literature review, in some chapters, it has also preferred field research for the elaboration of research. The questions were directed to experts. To see and evaluate ceramic art as a whole, such a cultural study was made. The reflections of Anatolian, the Near Eastern, the Mediterranean and Aegean, Caucasian, South Asian, the Far Eastern and American cultures on ceramics have been exemplified with its acquired significance. After all this cultural richness, viti culture and wine culture in Aegeanculture, belonging to our geography which we live in and was brought from ancient times to the present, have been associated with ceramics. As a result of this, an application has been performed. I hope, this thesis guide all researchers who interested in history, culture and ceramics.
