The current situation and the potential economic relations between Norway and Turkey in the ligth of historical background

Our study first started by trying to understand the reasons, with the fact that Norway is in the first place in the human development index. Although there are many factors of the level of human development, how the economic welfare is achieved and the methods by which this wealth is maintained, how the development of our economic relations with Norway can contribute to our country from Turkey's perspective, and what added value Turkey can provide to bilateral economic relations are examined on a sectoral basis. The aim of our study is to examine the current economic relations after establishing the background of bilateral economic relations between Turkey and Norway as of 1928 and to investigate whether there is a potential in our bilateral economic relations, and if so, in which areas. Our study consists of four parts. In the first part, the history of Norway was briefly discussed, in the second part, the historical background of the bilateral economic relations between Turkey and Norway was examined with documents, in the third part, our current economic relations were mentioned, and in the fourth part, it was tried to understand whether there is a potential in the economic relations of Turkey and Norway. As a result of the examinations, it has been determined that there is great potential in our mutual economic relations, especially in some sectors; However, it has been observed that the bilateral relations of both countries with the countries and country communities with which they are currently cooperating can have a hindering effect on the potential of Turkey-Norway economic relations from time to time.
