Agricultural e-commerce: Example of Adana province

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to make a research on whether they are doing e-commerce and agricultural e-commerce for the artisans working in agriculture sector in Yüreğir district of Adana province. In this context, 100 people (business owner or employee) were interviewed through face-to-face questionnaires about the main sources of information in e-commerce and e-commerce in agriculture. The main finding of the research is that individuals experience distrust about e-commerce and e-commerce in agriculture. In general, university graduates are eager to shop online. However, there are many reservations about e-commerce in agriculture (the risk of counterfeit goods, the failure to sell some products over the counter, the lack of a reliable site, etc.). However, these mistrust and the reasons mentioned have not been solved yet. Turkey in the agricultural sector; The development of e-commerce applications, which will provide a direct connection between producers, consumers, intermediaries and retailers, will lead to radical changes in the agricultural sector. Therefore, in the 21st century, when technology is developing rapidly, society needs to be informed about e-commerce.
